After several 70+ degree days here in Michigan, it’s beginning to finally feel like fall, which means that winter is right around the corner. I love this time of year, especially when the leaves change and autumn is in her glory. I’ve even come to love winter weather… as long as I’m layered up, I’m ready to roll. As always, even in a pandemic, I try to get outside with my children as much as possible. Being in nature has become such an important part of our lives and our homeschool, and it has also offered such a reprieve from the craziness that has been the year 2020.
If you’ve been around my blog for a while, you already know that I’m a HUGE advocate of play, being outside, and exploring nature as part of homeschooling. I’ve written about the benefits of nature throughout the time I’ve blogged, and today, I wanted to share four blog posts to encourage you to make getting outside an essential part of your homeschool, too.
Oh, and I’m sharing some BIG NEWS at the end of this post, so don’t forget to scroll down to see what’s going on!
Here are four blog posts that are chocked full of ideas to get you outside this winter. Many don’t cost a thing and all of them are excellent learning opportunities for you and your kiddos. Some are written for local homeschoolers, although I’m sure you can find similar places in your area.
Simply click on the images below to read the posts, and come on back to let me know what fun you had outside! I’d love to hear from you.
